Recently, Zixing miner Li Xiang has designed a set of postmarks with the theme of Chenzhou scenery, which perfectly presents the unique scenery of 12 AAAA level scenic spots in Chenzhou City. The set of postmarks will be officially inaugurated at the opening ceremony of the 6th CMGS on May 18th. At that time, “Chenzhou scenery” will be accompanied by letters to the world.
The set of 12 postmarks depicts Dongjiang Lake, Wangxianling, Mangshan Mountain and other 12 scenic spots with the most representative features. Taking the Dongjiang Lake landscape postmark as an example, Li Xiang, on a postmark with a diameter of 3 cm, clearly depicted the mountains, water, fog, boats, fishermen and other key elements of the most distinctive scenic spots in the scenic area, and also ingeniously reflected the clear water of the Dongjiang Lake through a clear reflection of the fishing boat.
It was understood that the landscape postmarks are the special postmarks with exquisite designs and delicate designs, which generally are used by the local post office of scenic spots. In addition to the general elements of the postal stamp, they all have local famous and memorable tourist attractions and scenic spots, called "business cards of scenic spots". With the unique charm, the landscape postmarks attract more and more tourists and philatelic collectors.
Li Xiang, 41 years old, the designer of the postmarks, is an ordinary miner in the excavation area of Zhou Yuanshan Mining Company of Hunan Coal Group and an inheritor of the folk paper-cut art, the intangible cultural heritage in Zixing City. Over the past 20 years, he has created more than 20 thousand paper-cut works and won many awards. In 2014, he began working on the design and creation of postal collections. So far, more than 4000 hand-painted first-day cover works have been collected by collectors around the world.
In March this year, the organizing committee of the 6th CMGS, Chenzhou Post Company and Chenzhou Philatelic Association invited Li Xiang to create the first set of scenery postmarks in Chenzhou. The set of 12 scenic postmarks successfully passed the approval of Hunan Post Corporation after several revisions of the manuscript in a period of more than a month, which was approved for sale at the opening ceremony of the 6th CMGS, becoming the new bright spot of the show.
