Guo Fuxiu who was born in 1918 in Jiangbei village, Pule town, Guidong county was press-ganged for first time when he was 18years old. He couldn’t remember he was in which division now. He returned to home after his army was defeated. When he was 22 years old, he was press-ganged for 2nd time and was dispatched to Gao’an county, Nanchang and was enrolled into 5th company, 3rd regiment, 11th division, 58th troop. In one battle, they attached the hilltop for three times and then finally succeeded. He was hurt during this battle. He returned home with the Nationalist Army’s paper ( he was afraid that the paper would be found during the Cultural Revolution, so he hide it in the wall mullion of his old house. His son discovered it recently when he demolished the house).

The aged solider is in poor health condition. He lied in the bed when we visited him. He was excited to tell the details of his experience, but because of his poor health condition, we can only record above details.

The aged soldier lied in the bed for 3-4years till now. His son was in charge of taking care of him. His grandson studied in the senior middle school in the county. Only his daughter-in-law worked outside to support the family, so his family was very poor. But because his son and grandson are filial, he is well looked after by them.
