Military service:

In March of the 32nd year of the Republic of China (1943), Tan Wanlin was press-ganged by the Nationalist Party when he went to visit his relatives in Maolixu, Guiyang county. After one-month training in Guiyang county, he was sent to Zhuzhou city by train and then went to Changde city by walk, and finally dispatched to the 51th division of 74th troop. His troop fought against Japanese in Xinhua and won the battle. His troop was transferred to Xupu for rest and reorganization for 7 months. During that period, the Japanese surrendered. His troop was in charge of defend Changha, Wuhan, Xuzhou, Jinan and some other places in following 4 months. In 1948, he went to Liu Bocheng’s liberation army for shelter in Huaihai Campaign. He also attended the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea in 1950. In 1955, he returned to homeland from Ha’erbin and stayed there.

 

Current living condition:

Tan has three sons. He and his wife live together with his youngest son. Every month he was subsided with 600yuan civil administration subsidies, 55yuan rural pension insurance, and 80yuan advanced age subsidies for the aged people over 90 years old. His living condition is in general standard and we recommended to providing routine subsidies to him.
