On September 24, the press conference of Anren County celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of PRC was held in the Press Release Hall of the Municipal Government.
Looking back and forth, Anren County has gone through a magnificent development process. In the past 70 years, Anren and New China have grown together. The county's GDP jumped from 14 million yuan in 1952 to 9.457 billion yuan in 2018, with an average annual growth rate of 8.0 percent, and its total economic output reached 10 billion. The general public budget revenue increased from 0.3 million yuan in 1952 to 611 million yuan in 2018, an average annual growth of 12.5 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased from 464 yuan and 202 yuan in 1984 to 24534 yuan and 10983 yuan in 2018, respectively, with an average annual increase of 12.4 percent and 12.5 percent. The urbanization rate of the county's permanent population increased from 2.58 percent in the early days of the founding of New China to 46.39 percent. The enrollment rate of primary and junior middle schools reached 100 percent, the number of pupils in general middle schools increased from 776 in 1949 to 24246 in 2018, and the gross enrollment rate in senior middle schools reached 91.6 percent. The county road mileage increased from 222 km in 1978 to 1278.69 km in 2018.
Up to now, Anren County has built a provincial industrial concentration area, and developed into a major national agricultural production area, a major national grain and oil production county and a good grain and oil demonstration county in China, a core area of the national modern agricultural science and technology park, a comprehensive demonstration county of e-commerce in the countryside, a strong provincial education county, a key county of provincial high-quality tourism routes, an advanced county of provincial beautiful rural construction, an advanced county of provincial comprehensive management work, and a provincial safe county.
