On the afternoon of December 18, the Forum on Mineral Crystal & Geoscience Popularization of the 8th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo was held. During the period, the five guests combined with practical cases and focused on the theme of "mining, mineral crystal and popularization of geoscience", and conducted in-depth discussions from the fields of China's mining industry and Chinese civilization, the construction of mining relics and mining parks in Hunan Province, and the popularization of Geoscience.

 

What is the significance of mining heritage and mine park construction? What are the typical mining parks and mining relics? At the meeting, Wang Denghong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, conducted in-depth discussion on the theme of "China's mining and Chinese civilization - the research and compilation experience of China's mineral geological records".

 

"I hope that Chinese enterprises can look to South Africa for investment." At the meeting, Balatseng, Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in China, with the theme of "mineral resources and characteristic mineral crystals in South Africa", introduced in detail the important mineral and gem resources and their exploitation and utilization in South Africa, and sincerely invited Chinese enterprises to invest in South Africa.

At the meeting, Wang Denghong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, focused on the theme of "China's mining industry and Chinese civilization - research and compilation experience of China's mineral geological records". Liu Li, Deputy Curator of Hunan Provincial Geological Museum, focused on the theme of "mining relics and mine park construction in Hunan Province". Su Dechen, a researcher at the Institute of Geology of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, focused on "Stone and Human", and Jennifer from the Canadian Geological Museum, based on the theme of "Canadian Geological Museum and the Popularization of Public Science", have carried out in-depth discussions respectively.
