Chenzhou adds 25 provincial protected cultural relics units

Recently, 25 units such as the ancient building complex in Leigongjing Village and the Xiangnan Uprising Memorial Tower in Chenzhou City were included among the 12th batch of cultural relics units protected at the provincial level announced by the People’s Government of Hunan Province. Meanwhile, 4 projects were merged with existing provincial protected units, with a total of 130 cultural relics units in the city under provincial-level protection so far.

 

There are 9 ancient building complexes from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Among them, the ancient building complex in Leigongjing Village of Jinping Town, Jiahe County consists of more than 40 well-preserved buildings from the Qing Dynasty, with the most representative buildings including Dehuidi, Zangbao Hall, Banjia Hall, Changxin Hall, Jiaogeng Hall, Hongjun Hall, Shangwu Hall, and Yinggong Hall.
 
The Tongmuwan Dongchuan Academy in Bali Town of Yizhang County is a well-preserved academy from the Qing Dynasty. It plays an important role in developing culture and cultivating talents, and provides important physical materials for studying local history, culture, education, and other aspects.
 
There are 16 important historical sites and representative buildings in modern times. The Xiangnan Uprising Memorial Tower in Nanta Subdistirict of Suxian District was established in 1988. It’s a concrete granite structure building and has high historical and social value, as well as educational significance. The former site of the Chejiangyuan Soviet Government in Yangshi Town of Guiyang County is one of the representatives of the earliest grassroots Soviet governments established in Hunan Province.
 
In addition, the Shouting Arch Bridge in Yangshan Village, Zhenghe Town, Guiyang County was included among the eighth batch of provincial protected cultural relics units. 
 
The Huang Family’s Courtyard in Tuqiao Town of Rucheng County was listed among the ninth batch of cultural relics units protected at the provincial level. 
 
The old site of the announcement “Where is the Way Out” in Wenming Yao Township of Rucheng County was merged into the former site of Central Red Army’s Long March Breakthrough Second Blockade Line included among the 10th batch of provincial protected cultural relics units. 
 
The former site of the Red Sixth Army Corps Advance Western Expedition to Guangfa Temporary Command Headquarters in Guangfa Town of Jiahe County was merged into the former site of the Guangfa Village Temporary Court listed among the tenth batch of cultural relics units under the provincial-level protection.
 
In recent years, Chenzhou City has taken multiple measures to strengthen cultural relics protection work, consolidate the foundation of cultural relics resources, and seek funds through multiple channels to protect cultural relics, in a bid to improve the cultural relics protection situation in Chenzhou.
