Mine, culture and rural leisure tourism

It was learned that over 200 experts and scholars who attended "2015 Exchange Confernce for China Mining Circulation Economy & Green and Harmonious Mine" held in Chenzhou city visited Guiyang National Mine Park recently. They enjoyed a nice "journey to heart of the earth" by taking sightseeing track down to the pit. Now, the unique Baoshan Mine, culture, and rural leisure tourism become three characteristic tourism brands of Guiyang county.

Guiyang county is a "famous area of south Chu" and "ancient prefecture of early Han Dynasty" with over two thousand years history and rich culture. In recent years, based on features of its cultural history and rural folks, it tried great efforts on developing mine, culture and rural leisure tourism, especially on developing the brands of "millennium prefecture, mine and drama" and brands of "pastoral and ecological Guiyang", which greatly helped to improve its development of tourism industry and establish three characteristic tourism brands.

On the basis of its rich mining culture, Guiyang county placed over 500million yuan on the construction of Baoshan National Mine Park-the first mine park of Hunan province which was upgraded to be national 4A landscape. It was introduced that Baoshan Mine Park is covered with 7.5 square meters and is mainly on showing the ancient and modern mining relics with the theme of mining history, which fully displayed ancient and modern mining engineers. The park is set with "one center and seven zones"- reception center, exploration zone in pit, open mining zone, mining exhibition zone, Zilong training zone, viewing deck, mining culture zone, and selection engineering display zone. The unique charm of Baoshan National Mine Park filled the gap of Hunan province's mine tourism.

Guiyang county also paid great attention on developing national historic culture brand. It placed 300million yuan on building a city park with the theme of historic culture of prefecture-Guiyang Culture Park, covering culture of vernacular castles, ancient officials, virtuous squires, and some relics of Guiyang county. Currently, the lake park and upgrading of East Tower Park have been finished. It is working on the second phase projects as "prefecture of Han Dynasty". It was purposely to improve the park with following five bases as display of historic culture, leisure, sightseeing, operation of cultural businesses, tourism destination construction. More than 200 visiting teams with 3000 members and 150,000 citizens were received by the culture park from its opening.

Yangshan village of Guiyang county which is famous as "living fossil" of south Hunan folk culture and ancient dwellings is with rich culture. Due to its hundreds years history and sound family style, it is also honored as "No.1 Hakkas village" and "top 10 ancient village of China". It was successfully established to be national 3A landscape in 2008. 5 villages of Guiyang county as Miaoxia village, Dawan village, and etc. were enrolled into the list of first batch ancient villages of China granted with central financial support.

As the national demonstration county of leisure agriculture and rural tourism, Guiyang county placed leisure agriculture and manorial economy as strategic industries of overall development of urban and rural areas and optimization & upgrading of industrial structure. It played the best advantages of transportation location, cultural resources, and etc. and combined the agricultural industrial systems as grain, vegetable, tea, herbal medicine, and etc. to promote the integrated development of agriculture and tourism, and improve the development of the brand of "pastoral and ecological Guiyang", so that the new development pattern of leisure agricultural villa with scaled operation, multiple entities, diversified models, enterprise management, vertical development and high-techs was formed there. Different leisure agricultural villas which were distributed in downtown or among the traffic arterial and Xihe River became the increasing point and important sceneries of the beautiful village. Currently, there are more than 130 leisure villas available in Guiyang county, 16 of which were star level ones( including one national demonstration of leisure agriculture and rural tourism, and one national 5-star villa). According to the statistics, 2.1218million visitors were received by Guiyang county, contributing 1.435billion yuan tourism revenue.
