At the site of investigation

From September 7 to 10, Dai Daojin, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led an investigation team to visit Rucheng County, Zixing City, Suxian District and Guiyang County to conduct investigation on "strengthening the protection of ancient and famous trees and natural forests". Li Ping, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the CPPCC municipal committee, accompanied the investigation.

Dai Daojin and his party successively entered the natural forest reserve of Daping State-owned Forest farm in Rucheng County, domestic sewage treatment plant in Huangcaoji Town of Zixing City, Chukou State-owned Forest Farm, Bischofia polycarpa tree group of Yunwu Mountain Villa in Dongjiang Bay, ancient camphor tree groups in Longtou Village of Tangdong Street, wild Nanmu groups in Huangnitan Village, Qiaokou Town, Suxian District, Jile Village, Zhenghe Town, Guiyang County, Guangdong Home Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, etc. to check the protection and management of ancient and famous trees and natural forests, such as forest types, compensation, cultivation, layout, etc., and deeply understand the implementation of relevant work, the implementation of relevant policies, the next work plan, and the existing problems and difficulties.

By the end of 2019, our city has issued the protection list of ancient and famous trees confirmed by the people's governments of 11 counties and cities. A total of 32235 ancient trees were registered. There are 8.79 million mu of natural forest in our city. Up to now, the city has carried out close investigation, strengthened publicity, actively carried out the work of listing protection, rescue and rejuvenation, included ancient and famous trees into the Chenzhou intelligent forestry management platform, and actively carried out special supplementary investigation of natural forests, and closed hillsides for afforestation (Prohibition of cutting) focusing on natural forest protection.

The investigation group affirmed the achievements made in the protection of ancient and famous trees and natural forests in our city. The investigation group pointed out that ancient and famous trees and natural forests are precious wealth left by our ancestors and a "green card" of Chenzhou. We should thoroughly carry out Xi Jinping's thought of ecological civilization, recognize the importance of protecting ancient and famous trees and natural forests, enhance the sense of responsibility and self-consciousness of protecting the ecological environment, further implement the protection work of ancient and famous trees and natural forests, establish and improve a long-term mechanism for protecting ancient and famous trees and natural forests, implement the responsibility system for protection and responsible persons, take effective measures in time, and actively carry out the work of listing protection, rescue and rejuvenation.
