In 2016, Linwu County confirmed to build the tourism industry as the head of top 6 billion industries in Linwu County to fully promote the development of county tourism in the 12nd National Party Congress. In accordance with the general idea of "1256", the "Development planning of characteristics tourism industry in Linwu County (2017-2021)" was introduced to build the tourism development pattern, realize the global tourism development goal and open the tourism development framework with the dragon culture theme. Through the investment to help the global tourism, Suzhou Gold Mantis Group planned to invest 2.4 billion yuan to develop Tongtianshan Mountain Scenic Area, Chenzhou Shengyuan Group planned to invest 1 billion yuan to build the Gem Culture Industry Park and Shenzhen Techand Ecology and Environment Company planned to invest 800 million yuan to construct the Xiyao Green Valley National Forest Park.

In addition, the county actively implemented the rural tourism and targeted poverty alleviation projects, constructed a number of special tourist towns and characteristics rural tourism products, formed the pattern of "one town and one product" and "one town diversity", and accelerated the development of Linwu duck, Tongtian Jade, Dragon culture and agricultural specialty products to promote the development of tourism commodity market.
