It was reported that courses of Yao language which are handled by Yao minority town and Xiangnan University were opened to public recently. More than 200 people as cadres of the town, staffs of Jiulongjiang Forest, staffs of Jiulong Tea Farm, and some masses joined in the courses.

Rucheng county is one of the 5 scattered counties of minorities of Hunan province. 26 minorities as Yao, She, and etc. with the population of 68,000 are available there, scattering in 3 minorities’ towns and counties and 16 minority villages. It is with the most number of minority population and towns & villages in Hunan province.

Teachers gave comprehensive explanation on the origin, pronunciation, daily expressions, and etc. All attendees took active reactions to the courses.

From the beginning of this year, Rucheng county focused on the target of improving to be "strong culture county" and carried out different measures to protect and explore more local minority culture. Some professional staffs were dispatched to visit some minority resides, which helped to find some traditional cultures there. The folk song heritor "She Minority Warbler Band" which was organized by Rucheng Media Bureau won the champion of Chenzhou section on the mass selection of 5th "Voice". More than one hundred million yuan was placed by the county finance on the construction of minority style parks, which is purposely to provide a platform for the protection, carry-forward, propaganda, and display of ethnic culture.
