Dabujiang patchwork embroidery originated in the Han Dynasty and prevailed in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. It is a kind of original ecological plastic art. It is mainly made of various pieces of cloth, with unique performance techniques and artistic language, and has a strong regional style. It is named because it is widely spread in the Dabujiang Area of Yongxing, southern Hunan. It is characterized by full composition, bold colors, exaggerated modeling, ingenious needling and exquisite lines. In 2009, the Dabujiang patchwork embroidery was listed in the second batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage, and in 2012, it was listed in the intangible cultural heritage protection list of Hunan Province.
