It was reported that 160,000yuan premium was paid by Zixing Xirong Architectural Co., Ltd. for over 400 peasant workers’ employment injury insurance. This insurance enabled the peasant workers to obtain the treatment on time and get some reasonable compensation, which granted the peasant workers with a “safety belt” on the construction process. 

Construction is a high-risk industry and high-incidence industry of accident. In order to guarantee the legal rights of employees of the architectural companies and scatter the accident risk of the companies, Zixing city tried more efforts on the enforcement work of employment injury insurance and urged all architectural companies to buy the insurance for the employees with the requirement of relative laws. The premium for the newly launched projects is about 2.8-0.8‰ of the total project cost. The companies which do not buy the insurance would be abandoned to settle the housing license and would be punished on the basis of “Labor Law”. It was required to buy the insurance for all the employees, including the peasant workers. Without this, the project is not legal to start the construction. Once bought the insurance, all peasant workers are legal to share the benefits of the insurance on the construction period (from the launching of project and final acceptance of construction). Till now, 26 architectural companies of Zixing city paid 870,000 yuan premium for their 3078 peasant workers, which greatly helped to protect the peasant workers’legal right.
