On December 30, Xu Huaihao, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, led a team to investigate the Elderly University and attended the plenary meeting of the Municipal Working Committee on aging.

During the survey, Xu Huaihao and his party watched the documentary of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the University, visited the teaching site of Wuling campus of the University, got a detailed understanding of the teaching development and construction, and sent new year's greetings to the students and teachers of the University in advance. Xu Huaihao said that elderly friends should give full play to what they have learned, give back to the society, actively participate in community construction and elderly health, and promote positive energy for the society.

Xu Huaihao, on behalf of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, highly affirmed the achievements of the aging work in our city in recent years, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the friends and comrades who supported the pension cause, industrial development and participated in the elderly service work.

He stressed that the work of aging is related to the overall development of the country and the well-being of the people, and the CPC Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to it. This year, it was first proposed to implement the national strategy of actively coping with the aging populationthe at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It is necessary to face the challenges, grasp the opportunities, improve the political position, and strive to enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency; to grasp the key points of our work, scientifically formulate the development plan for the cause of the elderly during the 14th Five Year Plan period, actively develop human resources for the elderly, develop and expand the silver economy, and strive to build a friendly society for the elderly; to comprehensively improve the working mechanism and support system, optimize the development environment of the aging society, closely focus on the development concept of "three high and four new", closely combine with the reality of Chenzhou, actively promote the construction of "one pole and four districts" in Chenzhou, and effectively help the city's aging work to a new level.
