It was introduced by Jinghu village Taobao station of Liantang town, Guiyang county that recently it got a 2-ton longicauda ginseng from one medical processing plant of Guangdong province. Fu Haixiong who is the principal of the station was surprised to find this new online marketing method by “internet+”.

Liantang town is located in the northern mountainous area of Guiyang county. Local villagers get used to cultivating herbal medicines which is one of the key income sources of them. But because of the traditional marketing mode which is suffered from fluctuant price condition, villagers are anxious to expand the plantation.

In last year, due to the rainy weather, a lot of herbal medicines were rotted. Learning from Runchong village which is Hunan sampling village of poverty alleviation, Liantang town tried to sell the herbal medicines via Taobao and promoted the mode of “company+ base+ farmer” in the village.

In last October, Fu Haixiong registered an online store named “Jinghu Ecological Agriculture” and specialized on marketing herbal medicines of Liantang town. Three months later, not only the overstock problem of medicines was solved, but the medicine marketing of surrounded villages was improved as well. Besides longicauda ginseng, some other types of herbal medicines were being sold there.

Driven by Jinghu village Taobao station, some other villages of Liantang town established their online marketing platforms gradually. Currently, there are 3 village Taobao stations and 11 online marketing platforms available in the town. Some herbal medicine plantation villages planned to establish herbal medicine professional cooperative to promote long term cooperation with the online shopping platforms with the mode of “herbal medicine professional cooperative+ online marketing platform”.

“Liantang Town Government will play its best role of ‘matchmaker’ to match the ‘marriage’ of herbal medicine professional cooperative and online marketing platform, and improve Liantang herbal medicine to be a famous brand,” stated by Liao Haixiong- Secretary of Liantang Town Party Committee. He also said that it would try best to improve the town to be strong herbal medicine town with the help of online marketing platform.
