2012 Chenzhou elite English teachers of compulsory schools training was held by Chenzhou Education Bureau with Nanjing Aide Funds, Hong Kong Aide Funds, and Kongkong Candlelight Funds. 22 foreign English teachers from Hongkong led by former Deputy Director-general of Hong Kong Education Bureau- Professor Tang Qikang came to Chenzhou for free English training. More than 200 elite English teachers of Chenzhou attended this training.
It was learned that this activity was aimed to upgrade Chenzhou English education level through training and communication. It was a fully free training handled by Hong Kong foreign English teachers and included three parts like training for English teachers of training base schools, training for elite English teachers of compulsory schools, and short training class for junior middle school students.
Professor Tang stated that it was of great value for enforcing the communication between Hong Kong and mainland schools and improving English teaching quality by holding this kind of free training activities. All the teachers for this activity were English teaching experts and their students of Hong Kong colleges. Trained teachers said that this event was of great significance and value, so that they all cherished it, for which enhanced the level of English teachers , who had learned good ways of English teaching in Hong Kong .
It was learned that more than 1000 English teachers were benefited from this activity.
