The 18th Primary and Middle School Students' Games was opened on October 13, 2012 in the Third Middle School. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou city announced the opening ceremony of the game.

39 teams with 1100 coaches and athletes attended this game. It was undertaken by Beihu district with the biggest scale, most attendants and prize medals compared with those of the previous sessions.

A congratulation letter from Hong Kong Henry Fok Funds Co., Ltd. was read out in the opening ceremony. All the athletes shared their joys in sports and competed in the game on the basis of Olympic Games spirit with“being higher, stronger and swifter”.

Zhang Zhengping- an education consultant of Hunan government and some Chenzhou municipal leaders were presented at the opening ceremony. Schools from Beihu district gave a splendid show named “sports & arts 2 plus 1” on the ceremony.
