Finals of 2014 World Volleyball Championship Qualification Asia to be Held in September in Chenzhou City

It was reported on the press conference of “Dongjiang Lake Cup” Finals of 2014 World Volleyball Championship Qualification Asia (China-Chenzhou) that the qualification game would be started on September 20, 2013 in Chenzhou Sports Center.

 

World Volleyball Championship was one of the earliest and largest scale international volleyball games hosted by Federation International of Volleyball. It is held every four years. These finals of Asia part qualification will be set for two phases: first phase is from September 20- 22, 2013, including games of Group C of male volley ball (including China, India, Chinese Taipei, and Saudi Arabia) and second phase is from September 27- October 1, 2013 ,including games of Group B of female volleyball (including China, Korea, Kazakhstan, New Zealand and India). There would be only one vacancy for male volleyball team of Group C to attend the Finals of 2014 Volleyball Championship, while two available for Group B female volleyball team.

 

This qualification game was hosted by Federation International of Volleyball and Asian Volleyball Confederation, undertaken by Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau and Chenzhou Government. There was close connection between Chenzhou city and China female volleyball team from 1979 when the team carried out its training courses in the training center of Chenzhou city in the first time and won the first Asian champion later. From then on, China female volleyball team won five successive championships in the following years, which was the most glorious time of it. Chenzhou people was proud of this connection with China female volleyball team, so different sceneries concerned for it were available in Chenzhou city, such as training base, hotel, museum, etc.
