It was learned from Chenzhou Urban & Rural Planning Bureau that “site plan for Chenzhou theme football park” was approved, so Chenzhou city would start to reconstruct “one-thousand-mu tailings” to be the largest football theme park together with the treatment of tailings’ environment.

The project is located in the south area of Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Zone. Donghe River Landscape Avenue, Linyi Avenue, Houying Avenue and Hongling Avenue are on its east, west, north and south side respectively. The total areas for it are about 925,400square meters, 85% of which are the tailings of Shizhuyuan industrial and mining areas. The project would be handled out by two phases. The first phase is planned to use 822,400 square meters lands and cover 200million yuan budget investment. It would be launched in 2015 and placed to operation in 2016.

The project is divided into three functional areas as football sporting events area, modern leisure sporting events area and traditional sporting events area, including 102pcs of courts. Football sporting events area is designed in the center area of the park, covering 471,300 square meters of football courts, football training camp, auxiliary functional zone of football base, and other parts. 41pcs courts would be set there, including 9pcs 11-people football courts, 9pcs 7-people football courts and 23pcs 5-people football courts. Modern leisure sporting events areas are mainly distributed in the peripheral area of the park with 353,900square meters. Wetland landscape would be set there by combing it with General Stone scenic spot and some pools around it, and some fitness leisure items suitable for different ages would be set along Donghe river water front. Traditional sporting events area would cover 100,200square meters, which would be mainly set with some sports items popular in local minorities.

“It integrates the sports and fitness courts together with ecological environment, which would become a perfect place for citizens to enjoy their sporting and leisure time.”said Xu Yanbo- Director of Chenzhou Planning Bureau. He also stated the project is adjacent to Donghe Landscape Belt and near Luxian Park, Jintianhu Park, Xihe Wetland Park, Shizhuyuan Mine Park, Liuxianhu Park and Xihe Kangle Park. Due to its excellent geographical location, convenient transportation condition, perfect sports facilities and sound ecological condition, it would become a good place to enjoy their leisure time.
