On the morning of October 14, 2020 Table Tennis Competition for College and Middle School Students in Hunan Province, jointly sponsored by Hunan Provincial Education Department and Provincial Sports Bureau, and undertaken by Xiangnan University, opened in the gymnasium of Xiangnan University. The competition will last until October 21.

301 outstanding athletes from 37 universities and colleges in the province, including Central South University, Hunan University and Changjun Middle School, participated in the competition, and many international and national referees were in charge of the competition. The competition was divided into seven groups. In addition to the regular university group, college group, higher vocational college group and high school group, there were also super groups of colleges and universities representing the top level in China. There were many high-level athletes who have participated in China Table Tennis Super League, League A and National Table Tennis Championship.

Under the premise of strictly abiding by the epidemic prevention system and ensuring the safety of the games, Xiangnan University has done a lot of meticulous work in the aspects of epidemic prevention detection, site conditions, accommodation environment, pick-up arrangements and so on. The competition venues and accommodation hotels were equipped with corresponding anti epidemic materials and carried out comprehensive cleaning and detoxification. In addition, all staff and members of the team were also checked for residents' health code and "health monitoring record form" and body temperature test. Only after passing the inspection can they report for the competition.
