The 2024 China Outdoor Fitness and Leisure Conference (Rucheng Station), one of the events of the China National Fitness Competition (Hunan Province), will be held in Rucheng County, Chenzhou City from October 19 to 20, inviting outdoor sports enthusiasts nationwide to participate in the event and visit the millennium-old county.
The National Fitness Competition is held every two years to promote the in-depth development of national fitness sports. The China Outdoor Fitness and Leisure Conference has won enthusiastic response and high praise from all sectors of society for its innovative competition mode, high standard activities, diverse sports, and extensive social influence.
This event aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and sports spirit of Rucheng County. Based on the local cultural and tourism characteristics and colorful outdoor sports projects, it aims to create a sports feast for outdoor enthusiasts.
The county government takes sports events as an opportunity to promote the integrated development of sports with other industries.
Colorful activities like Rucheng mountain cross-country race, Baiyunxian tent camping and Tai Chi exhibition will be held. Among them, the mountain off-road race starts from Shiquan village in Maqiao town. Shiquan village has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The ancient buildings in the village have high historical, artistic and scientific value. And the village is a renowned traditional ancient village.
The “Retracing Long March” route starts from Guanheng Village in Yanshou Township. In November 1934, the Red Army broke through the second blockade during the Long March in Rucheng. Guanheng Village was the site of the Battle of Qingshizhai, and where the story of “An IOU” took place.
The Jiulong River Cycling Mountain Crossing Race is scheduled to be held in Jiulong River National Forest Park, while the Baiyunxian Tent Camping is held in Baiyun Mountain, Jingpo Town.
Contestants will revisit historical footprints and inherit the revolutionary spirits through a series of fun and cultural sports events.
