The first Five Central South Provincial Hiking Challenge & Outdoor Camping on Hunan Chenzhou Feitian Mountain was rounded off in Chenzhou city on November 4, 2012. It was held by Chenzhou Mountaineering Association and Feitian Mountain National Geological Park and attracted over 600 attendants from Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong and other provinces and areas.

The heavy-loaded hiking contest was held from November 3-4, 2012. It was with 35kms from Baiwei square, Zixing city to Feitian Mountain. The contestants from five central south provinces conquered many difficulties like heavy rain, falls, steep paths, etc. during this competition. Some of them said: “all the sceneries along this trip are so amazing that they are indeed worth your time and hardship” Eventually, Chenzhou Nanling Outdoor Club and Henan Luoyang Yongbang Club won the championship.

Besides the intense hiking challenge, hundreds of tour pals camped out in Feitian Mountain and enjoyed the cooking, tug of war, photography, camp-fire party and other wonderful activities. It was learned from the principal of Chenzhou Sports Bureau that this contest was mainly for the integration of sports, culture, tourism, health maintenance and competition, boosting the establishment of “Sports City”.
