It was learned from Chenzhou City Management Bureau that till the late of November, 15 parks and gardens have been completed in the central city of Chenzhou and another 21 ones are under construction.

From the beginning of 2012 on, Chenzhou government has followed the target of establishing a national garden city and carried out series of greening projects, park and garden construction projects. Till now, 104 parks and gardens have been finished in the central city of Chenzhou, which enabled Chenzhou citizens to enjoy a greening environment once they stepped out of house. The greening coverage area of central city hit 2555 hectares; green land areas reached 2415 hectares, and park green land areas amounted to 522 hectares with the greening coverage rate, green land rate and per capita park green land area of 38.31%, 36.21% and 9.53 square meters respectively. All the above three indexes exceed the standard of a national garden city. Chenzhou central city now turns out to be a city with ecological character of “mountain in the city, city in the park, and people in the green”.

In addition, Chenzhou city is preparing for city greenway planning, which is planned to combine mountains, rivers, lakes, parks, landscapes, green lands along streets, gardens, and communities in the city together to form a specific city greenway of Chenzhou.
