Recently, Hunan Provincial Agriculture Ministry dispatched one team to Zixing city to inspect the construction of a national standard orchard. The team visited the orchard site and carefully listened to the working report presented by Chenzhou Agriculture Bureau.

Zixing is one of the most famous citrus counties of China which was listed as the creating county of national horticultural crops Standard Park in 2012. In order to carry out the establishment work, 2.6 million yuan was invested to build infrastructures, promote and popularize production technologies. With the help of 50% government subsidies, soil testing and fertilization, pest defense & control system were fully handled in the park. In order to increase the technology awareness and planting levels of farmers, agricultural experts were hired as technological consultants to give training courses for farmers. It was said that 760 farmers were greatly benefited from these courses.

It was estimated by the investigation group that with the establishment of a national standard orchard, the high quality rate in Zixing standard orchard reaches 86%; the product commodity rate is up to 95%; the average increased income amounts to 1600 yuan (375kgs)/mu, while the average income of a farmer increases 6000yuan. It needs to be mentioned that Zixing standard orchard totally meets the indexes concerning a national standard orchard.
