Mark Higgins was awarded with champion cup

Han Han celebrated the race with fans

“2013 Wanhua international cup” Chenzhou- China Rally Championship was closed on June 16, 2013 after three days intense competition. Mark Higgins/ Carl Williamson and Han Han/Sunqiang from Subaru Rally Team gained the champion and second place in the championship. Wang Xiang/ Wang Mengxing from Dmack tire rally team was ranked the third place.

There were 6 sections of 101.22kms racing on the last day of the rally championship. Danxia section was pitch road and Feitian mountain section was concrete road and sandy road. Macksey from Shanghai Volkswagen team quit the competition for the mechanical breakdown of his auto. Because lacking of strong competitors, Mark Higgins won the race easily though two incidences happened to the tire of his auto. That was the first champion for the new season of China Rally Championship.

Han Han took the stable strategy for the last day’s race with the advantages won in the race of the second day. But because of the problem happened to booster pump in the last two racing sections, he lost more than one minute, and failed the race.

It was a tense race between Wang Xiang from Dmack team and Xu Jun from Shanghai Volkswagen. Both of them tried best to win the third place. Finally, because of the problems of brake pad, Xu Jun failed and just got the forth place.

Concerned for the team competition, the Subaru team won a newly established prize of“Federation Cup” and first place of international team. Dongnan auto Dafu fund team and Shanghai Volkswagen team won the champion of four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive separately. Wang Xiang from Dmack tire team, Xie Chunxu from Beijing Yongchi SX4 team, Li Yatao from Maxxis team, and He Yong from Changan Suzuki team won the first place of S4-S1grade separately, which helped their team won the champion cup of the grades respectively.
