Luo Shifang, born on April 2, 2001 in Haitang Village, Chonglingjiang Town, Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, is a weightlifter who plays for the Zoomlion weightlifting team.
In July 2012, she was selected by Tang Shuguang, a coach of the weightlifting team of Guiyang Sports School, to learn weightlifting. In November 2013, she joined the Hunan provincial weightlifting team.
From 2017 to 2018, she won the gold medals in the clean and jerk lift and total scores of the women’s 58kg category at the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championships and the National Youth Weightlifting Championships.
On August 15, 2019, she participated in the second National Youth Games and broke the national youth record in the women’s 59kg clean and jerk lift with 127kg.
In 2020, at the young age of 19, she won three gold medals at the 2020 National Women’s Weightlifting Championships.
In 2021, she won the championship at the 14th National Games, setting a new national youth record and becoming a rising star in the women’s 59kg weightlifting category during the Paris Olympic cycle.
On September 20, 2022, she won the first place in the 59kg category at the second selection round of the 2022 Weightlifting World Championships.
In March 2023, she joined the national weightlifting training team for the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province and the Paris Olympics.
On April 3, 2024, she swept the clean and jerk and total scores in the women’s 59kg category of the 2024 Weightlifting World Cup held in Phuket of Thailand, with a new world record in the total of 248 kilograms.
On August 8, she claimed the gold in the women’s 59kg weightlifting final at the Paris Olympics with a weight of 241 kilograms.
