In the morning of October 28, 2015 Chenzhou “City in Forest, Leisure City” International Leisure Tourism & Culture Festival was opened in Feitian Mountain Landscape. Zhang Wenxiong- Member of Hunan Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Director of Hunan Provincial Propaganda Department, Yi Pengfei-Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Wang Chaoxiang- Deputy Secretary of Party Group and Deputy Director of Hunan Tourism Bureau delivered speeches on the opening ceremony. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the ceremony. Principal of Suxian district delivered the welcome address there.

Yi Pengfei said that “green land”, “blessing place”, “treasure place” and some other features improved Chenzhou city to be a unique tourism resort. It is also a “virgin land” of cultural tourism. Chenzhou city and Chenzhou people are trying best to forge it to be a cultural tourism destination. Chenzhou city is with long history, deep foundation, advantageous location, convenient transportation and abundant tourism resources. Its natural condition concerned for mountains, waters, and air is sound and its urban and rural infrastructure condition and public service are kept being improved, which enabled it to be a city suitable for traveling, experiencing culture, exploring, enjoying leisure and fitness. It is equipped with the foundations of establishing livable internal leisure city and is fully of potentiality, vigorous and prospection.

It was introduced that the tourism festival would be last for November 8. Some more activities as Hunan- Guangdong Ancient Horse Trail Hiking, RV Camping of South China & 3rd Cross-County Competition of South China, Highway Music Fair of South China, and etc. would be handled in the festival as well.

Some more Hunan provincial and Chenzhou municipal leaders attended the opening ceremony.

300 Hikers Revisit Ancient Horse Trail

5th Hunan-Guangdong Ancient Horse Trail Hiking ( Suxian section) which is one of the activities of Chenzhou Tourism Festival was launched in Yuhou street of Chenzhou city on October 31, 2015. More than 300 hikers gathered there to revisit this one-thousand-year ancient trail.

At 9:00am, the hikers started from Yuhou street under the heavy rain, and traced from Suxian lake, Zoumaling, Wanshou bridge, then arrived at the destination of Xiuliang garden of Liangtian town. Though the weather was bad, all hikers were still passionate to finish the 28-km journey. After 5 hours, all of them arrived at the destination continuously. “It is a unique feeling that all beautiful sceneries were covered in the mist during this rainy trip. The least of perfection is that less ancient quartzite roads are available there. But we are still satisfied with the fulfillment of this hiking.” said Zhang Wen who attended such kind of activities every year. He becomes healthier after joining in the outdoor sports.

It was learned that the ancient horse trail hiking becomes one of the brand events of Chenzhou city’s establishment of sports city. It was firstly launched in 2011, and then was kept being handled every year. It was purposely to enrich people’s spirit life, promote the healthy life style, and mobile more people to join in the national fitness program.
