Dongjiang Lake National Wetland Park

Brief introduction: Dongjiang Lake is located in Zixing city, which is with 160 square kilometers water surface and 8.12billion cubic meters water retention capacity. Its water is qualified with the first national grade of surface water, so called as “Dongting Lake of South Hunan”. Dongjiang Lake is “national 4A level landscape”, “national landscape resort”, and “first batch of national ecological tourism demonstration”, which is valuable for protection, scientific research, education, and tourism and for the ecological, social and economic functions as flood control, irrigation, electricity supply, fishing, and etc. It is also one of the key water sources for irrigation, drinking water, and industrial production, the important supplying place for the water regulation of Xiangjiang River, and the strategic water source for the development of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan “two-oriented society”. At the meantime, Dongjiang Lake is located in the ecologically sensitive area of south China, which enabled it to be with variety of wetland lives and rich wetland sceneries. It is combined wetland consisted with river, lake, water reservoir, spring, paddy field, and etc., which is a typical type of rural wetland combination and culture in south China.

Besides enjoying the natural and human culture of Dongjiang Lake, Swan Hill, and Chengjiangkou, visitors can help themselves by joining some other activities as drifting, skydiving, water plane, motor yacht, water ski, fishing, Yao minority performance, swimming, night tour, and etc.

Guiyang Chongling National Wetland Park

Brief introduction: Chongling River is stemmed from Lanshan county of Yongzhou city and flows to Xiangjiang River and Dongting Lake via Guiyang county. The 115kms section in Guiyang county becomes mother river of the county. A 7-archor bridge which is named as Yongji Bridge as well was firstly built in 12th year of Emperor Wanli of Ming Dynasty（1584 AD）. It was famous for its magnificent sceneries from the ancient time. In the downstream, Ouyang Hai Dam which is the first dome dam discharging flood from dam body is set up there.

Visitors can enjoy vast scenery in Chongling River and some other scenery as Swan Lake, Wushi ferry, Sheren ferry, 7-archor Bridge, Fairy Bridge, Jianhu Academy, Flower Park, Ouyang Hai Dam, and etc. Swan Lake is about 6840mu big with 5.6kms long banks, 8 islands, and 10 peninsulas. Black swans, egrets, feral ducks, cormorants, and a large number of other animals live in the green islands. The water is so clean there that visitor can see the fishes clearly.

In 2014, Chongling Wetland Park was approved as national wetland park.

Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park (pilot)

Brief introduction: Anren Yonglejiang National Wetland Park is located in the west of downtown of Anren county with a planned area of 1115.66 hectares. It is open plain type of river wetland. Conservation zone, recovery zone, scientific education zone, utilization zone, and maintenance zone are planned to be set up there. More than 270million yuan investment would be invested on its construction, which was purposely to improve it to be a tourism resort with the functions of tourism, fitness, and ecology by excavating its geographical, human cultural, water, flora and fauna resources and highlighting its characteristic wetland scenery.

It was enrolled into the list of national wetland construction (pilots) by the collective evaluation of national evaluation commission on December 21, 2015.

Xihe River National Wetland Park (pilot)

Xihe River National Wetland Park covers Xihe river which is the branch of Leishui in the upper stream of Xiangjiang river, its source of Yangtian Lake mountainous wetland, and surrounded areas, involving 67 villages of 14 towns of Beihu district, Suxian district, Guiyang county and Yongxing county. It mainly consists of lake wetland- Yangtian lake, river wetland- Xihe river, marsh wetland- surrounded area of Yangtian Lake, artificial wetland- paddy field, and etc., covering 1578 hectares, 1128.8 hectares of which are wetland areas, accounting for 71.53%.

Yan Chenggao- Deputy Director of Conservation and Management Center of the State Forestry Ministry led an evaluation team to investigate the park from November 13-14, 2015, and highly appreciated the rare long Xihe river wetland of Yangtian Lake Wetland Park.
