Development of Linwu county economy
Linage of new industrialization, new urbanization, and industrialization of agriculture enabled Linwu County to reach prominent achievements on the severe district competitiveness, even surpass others.
From January to September, Linwu County’s GDP hit 6.174 billion yuan, up 12.5%, the total fiscal revenue amounted to 655 million yuan, up 27.4%, and agricultural industrialization output value reached 770 million yuan, up 21.3%.
Improving agriculture through the way of industrialization
Linwu duck is one of the eight famous ducks in China which won the national geographical indication product protection and become the name card of Linwu County for its popularity. Some other agricultural foods like Dachong red pepper, purple yam, jujube, etc. are well-known. How to speed up its development with that featured agricultural industry and rich agricultural products? Linwu County has decided to follow a special way to transform the traditional agriculture and promote the extension of industrial chain with the aim of fully upgrading its core competitiveness of county economy.
Applying the industrialization and informatization ways to promote agricultural industrialization construction, Linwu allocated 47 million yuan special funds to implement government subsidies for the loans of leading agricultural enterprises to improve their development, and to support agricultural processing enterprises with the purpose of enlarging the agricultural special industries. Now there are 13 agricultural industrialization leading enterprise above county level available in Linwu County.
Besides 200 kinds of products, Shunhua duck group which is the most famous agricultural industry of Linwu County has established 5 modern processing factories and is on the construction of a new camellia oil production line. Furthermore, 48 high level fruit bases and 12 purple yam bases were established with the 26.4mu circulation lands. 70% of the farmers were involved into the characteristic scale breeding industry which enabled the per capita net income of farmers to be reached 5629 yuan with an increase of 20.4%.
Relying on the rich agricultural tourism resources, Linwu County focuses on creating more ecological tourism lines to improve tourism industry. Besides the purple yam, corn, and cole follower sightseeing belts, some planting parks and agricultural products processing parks, Linwu County is planning to develop 10 more modern farms with ecological, leisure, and tourism features.
Upgrading mining economy strength with transformation development
With an unprecedented effort on the integration of mineral resources, 10 licensed mines in Linwu County were successfully merged to be Southern Mining. It is a new and successful integration mode compared with “Xintianling mode”, and recommended as the “national mineral resource integration demonstration mine”.
Linwu County also paid high attention to the investment attraction to change the resource advantage to economic advantage. Some project cooperation contracts were successfully signed and 24 mineral processing enterprises were introduced into the industrial park. Now, the county has got the initial formation of non-ferrous metal smelting and fined processing industrial chains and industrial clusters.
In addition, Linwu County is actively promoting the transition of energy industries to focus on the development of new wind power energy industry. Sanshiliuwan wind power station with one billion yuan investment is expected to generate power at the end of 2012.
Enhancing county economy energy by the integration of urban and rural areas

All of these should be contributed to Linwu county’s efforts on the improvement of living conditions and city levels. Concentrating on the target of forging a greening and livable county with the provincial even national level, Linwu County implemented 60 county construction projects with 8.32 billion yuan to establish a batch of symbolized and fine projects.
At the same time, Linwu County accelerated the small town construction with the driving effect of center town development and will strive to create a number of strong economy towns, commercial towns, and tourism towns.
All the improvements are on the basis of infrastructure construction, so Linwu speed up its development on rural roads and water conservancy projects. A series of demonstration villages, areas and belts with modern and local characteristics were successfully forged in Linwu County. Meanwhile, Linwu County carried out the remediation and transformation projects in the villages, which remarkably improved its rural areas images. Furthermore, 6 great ecological construction projects were vigorously implemented in Linwu town, which helped the county fulfill 186,200mu afforestation and greening areas, and establish 7 mine recovering demonstration areas with 6300 recovering areas.
Along with the good ecological environment, more enterprises and merchants were attracted to settle down in Linwu County. Some enterprises of new industries like electronic information, new material, light manufacturing industries and so on were introduced into the industrial park. Dongjia electronics projects with 600 million yuan investment are under construction, which will become an outstanding export enterprise for Linwu County.
