Chenzhou is not only the “south gate” of Hunan Province, but also the gateway from Central China to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Constantly making use of the geographical advantages, Chenzhou docks with Qianhai, Hengqin and Nansha areas closely to strengthen cooperation with the Greater Bay Area. Chenzhou has opened a new market thanks to China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Enterprises settle here
Connecting China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Greater Bay Area, Chenzhou seizes the opportunity to attract enterprises and provides favorable business environment for them to settle here.
In May 2021, Chenzhou issued Hunan’s first implementation measures for bonded maintenance, which stipulated that enterprises in Chenzhou Integrated Free Trade Zone can carry out maintenance business from the world. The repairable products involve 55 categories such as integrated circuits, aerospace and construction machinery.
“Thanks to the establishment of the pilot free trade zone, the transport of goods is more convenient this year than before. The rail-sea intermodal transport makes it possible for us to get wood in two or three days. The wood can be directly imported from the place of origin by sea and then transported by rail and road,” a person in charge of an enterprise said happily.
During the year of 2021, the efforts and exploration in foreign trade, cross-border e-commerce, bonded maintenance and processing trade in Chenzhou Area brought convenience for enterprises and people. Chenzhou people had a strong sense of fulfilment and happiness.
Great changes take place thanks to connection of roads
Based on the construction of inland areas to undertake industrial transfer as well as transition and upgrading of processing trade, Chenzhou aspires to become a demonstration zone of cooperation among Hunan, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
On March 5, 2021, Chenzhou to Malaszewicze cross-border e-commerce freight train, which was Chenzhou’s first China-Europe freight train, departed from Chenzhou International Port to Malaszewicze, Poland. The train saved 20 days compared with the previous sea freight.
On October 14, 2021, the first Sino-Europe Ka Ban (cross-border e-commerce) service started. Such goods were transported as household items, office supplies, Christmas ornaments, bags and clothes, weighing 15 tons and worth about 300,000 US dollars in total.
Goods from the Greater Bay Area were collected and distributed at Chenzhou International Inland Port. Then the customs declaration for export of goods was completed at Chenzhou Integrated Free Trade Zone. The trucks transported the goods to Xinjiang Tacheng Baketu, and then to Russia and finally to Belgium.
On October 21, 2021, a train with code “X8186” whistled past Chenzhou South Railway Station, which departed from Horgos to Europe. It was the first scheduled train launched by Chenzhou after it was included in the train schedule by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. in October 2021, marking the normalization of the operation of China-Europe freight trains (Chenzhou).
Great changes have taken place thanks to the connection of roads. Chenzhou Area will continue to leverage its geographical advantages, so as to facilitate regional communication and play the leading role of opening-up.
