Chenzhou has strengthened the protection of forest ecology and biodiversity in Nanling Mountains, implemented the comprehensive management of rocky desertification, the restoration of farmland to forest, wetland to grass, the construction of special forest and national reserve forest of Yangtze River and Pearl River protection forest, strengthened the construction and protection of natural forest, ecological public welfare forest and various nature reserves, forest parks, wetland parks, water conservancy scenic areas and conservation areas, and promoted the overall development of landscape forest fields ecological protection and restoration of lake grass; strictly controled the quarrying, carried out large-scale land greening activities, and accurately improved the forest quality.

The third is to strengthen the construction of water ecological civilization. Chenzhou has thoroughly implemented the strictest water resource management system, strictly controlled the development and utilization of water resources, water efficiency control and the "three red lines" management of water function zone to limit the pollutant absorption, so as to realize the sustainable utilization of water resources; implemented national water-saving actions and built a water-saving society in an all-round way; further promoted the river chief system, strictly controlled sand mining in river channels and fish farming in cage, vigorously implemented the connection of rivers, lakes and reservoirs, solidly carried out the construction of water conservancy scenic spots and comprehensive prevention and control of soil erosion, accelerated the promotion of 16 "four water treatment" projects such as Chongling river and Leishui river, and 21 small and medium-sized river treatment projects such as the comprehensive treatment of Xihe River Basin and the second phase of Chenjiang river; has paid special attention to the construction and management of projects such as the repair of water damage projects and the treatment of dangerous reservoirs.
