The reporting team of “Trans-Chenzhou Ecology Trip & Establishment of National Forest City” stopped at Anren county. As a traditional agricultural county and major grain production county, Anren county placed much more attention on its development with ecological agriculture, especially on the combination of the advantages of rice and Chinese herb medicine.

The reporters walked around Rice Filed Park in a rainy day. The seeds of cole showed a great expectation of harvest in near future.

It was introduced that there are 420,000mu cultivated lands available in Anren county. More than 10 rice production bases are over 10,000mu big. It is a typical land of rice in south China, which is with long farming culture history. Besides the rice production, is there any other function for the rice filed? Anren people kept asking this question to themselves, an idea on establishment of rice field park was emerged into their minds after someone mentioned that “rice field was an ecological wetland and beautiful scenery”.

There were over 50,000mu contiguous rice fields available in Paishan area, Yonglejiang town. Yongle river, Shennong landscape, and Xiongfengshan Forest Park were connected together by Paishan river. Because of the abundant mountain, water and field resources were available in this area, Anren Rice Field was finally located there.

It was the first field park in China, so no experience available for Anren county to follow, they can only figure out the construction ideas by themselves.

Anren Rice Field Park was opened to public on this March 21 after 8 months construction. Beautiful cole filed attracted thousands of visitors there.

Local people were mobilized by the sound tourism condition to handle out their private businesses as rural inn near the park. The local villagers became wealthier along with the development of tourism.

It was learned that over 15 rural home inns were established after the park was opened to public. Over 100 Xiangnan style folk houses were built near that area. Over one million visitors were attracted to visit there, which contributed over 200million yuan income to the county.

At the very first beginning, local villagers worried about the rice production would be affected by the park’s construction, but now it was solved well. Former two seasons rice production model was changed to triple cropping system as “rice-rice-cole”. At the meantime, roads, water channels and some other infrastructures were upgraded.

Currently, the second phase of the rice filed which was invested with 140million yuan has been launched as well, which helped to make its future even brighter.
Wang Xinsheng whose honeysuckle became maturing was busy in employing some workers to collect it recently. It was introduced that this kind of honeysuckle can be collected four times this year.

Wang Xinsheng used to handle the non-ferrous metal business in earlier years, and changed to do this honeysuckle production business in 2011. Wang was confident to cover the cost in near future.

In order to play the best role of the lands, over 2000mu production base of Chinese herbal medicine were consolidated in the beginning of this year and some bitter orange, peony, and etc. were planted there.

Different from Wang’s private business, Tian Yongzhi followed a new operation model as “company+ production base+ farmers”.

A traditional Chinese herbal pieces plant was established in the new industrial park. Followed with this new operation model, local employment, purchasing of the herbal medicine and some other problems were solved well. Currently, over 2000 families of Anren county were working on the Chinese herbal medicine base.
