The reporting team of “Trans-Chenzhou Ecology Trip & Establishment of National Forest City” visited Linwu county where could be simply described with one word: livable. Linwu county placed much more attention on the ecological civilization construction on the process of promoting economic and social development. It was purposely to forge the county to be a livable county with beautiful ecological environment.

Along with the swing of windmill in Nanjiling and blossom of flower, Linwu people started a new day in the morning.

Li Qun who worked in Linwu Organization Department rented a bike in a public bike renting station near her house and rode to her office at around 7:30a.m. As introduced by Li, she kept riding bike to her office for over one year. It was for free in the first 2 hours, which was cheaper and easier to take the public bus.

The public bike renting system was operation by Linwu county from 2011, which was the first one in Hunan province. Till now, 70 renting stations were set in different areas of the county and 13,000 renting cards were issued to public.

Reporters arrived at a park near Wushui river, where was used to hold the first Linwu Crape Myrtle Flower Festival in last August. At that season, the beautiful crape myrtle flowers attracted thousands of visitors there. Though now it was not the bloom season of the flower, the park was full of people who came to enjoy their leisure life.

In order to facilitate the masses with more leisure spaces, Linwu county launched a project called “seven parks”in recent years. Now, Huifeng Park, Tanhua Park, Hebin Park and other ones were opened to the public gradually, which granted the county with a beautiful green scenery and help to enable the masses to enjoy green life on stepping outside their houses.

When dark was coming, the county was facilitated with the street lamp system which enabled the masses to spend more time on fitness and entertainment at night.
Peng Yanlan who was 43 years old got used to dance in the square with her team members every night if only not rainy day.
Some direct drinking water supply was facilitated in the square as well. It was introduced that there were 31 such kind of direct drinking water service stops available in Linwu county.

Changhe Water Reservoir was located in Huatang village, Linwu county with the total storage capacity of 40.88million square meters, which was the drinking water source of over 150,000 people of Linwu county. In order to well protect this water source, a“five-year plan on the protection of Changhe water reservoir’s water source” was issued by Linwu county and placed to operation accordingly.

Wuyuan town was in the upstream of the water reservoir, 7 artificial wetland water treatment projects were finished in the town to handle 95% sanitary sewage treatment with proper processes. Furthermore, 134 biogas digesters, 150 solar powered insecticidal lamps, and garbage collection system were facilitated in the conservation area. With years’efforts, the water quality of Changhe Water Reservoir was upgraded greatly.

Linwu county figured out a greening way to forge it to be a livable and ecological county by playing sound role on its ecological advantages. Sanshiliuwan where was used to be a barren place became a factory of green resources. This “county of coal mine” turned to be “county of wind power” in recent years. 130,000kw installed capacity has been placed to operation. 3million yuan was place to install 1400 solar and wind powered new resource lamps, which would be helpful to save 1170tons of coal mines. A urban greening land system called“64321”namely 6 big parks, 4 small gardens, 3 squares, 2 greening belts and 1 ecological circle at city outskirt has been figured out, which would be help to grant 1480mu more greening areas to urban area. All those methods were greatly helpful to provide Linwu people with a livable living condition.
