Though there is no mineral available in Yongxing county, one quarter of China’s silver was produced there and the biggest rare metals production base was established there. Beside the fame of“silver county ”, sweet orange was also another famous brand of yongxing county. Yongxing county has gained series experience on promotion of circular economy, green agriculture, and some ecological civilization construction.

As is well-known that there is no non-ferrous metal minerals with silver or gold available in Yongxing county, but it is with over 300 years history on gold and silver smelting which is its mainstay industry. In current years, Yongxing county placed more attention on improving the smelting industry of gold, silver and other metals to be demonstrative projects of circular economy and highlighting its value on cyclic utilization of“the three wastes”.

New workshops construction work was launched by Yishui Group which was established in Yongxing county 4 years ago. Wu Xinyu- General Manager of the Group said over 300,000tons of “the three wastes” were delivered to the company annually as its production resource.

Once extracted the gold and silver from those production resources with the company’s private engineering, their wastes would not be abandoned either.

There were close connections among the smelting enterprises in Yongxing county that a circular model was formed among them. All “the three wastes”delivered to Yongxing county every year were made the best of them.

Currently, over 150,000tons of non-ferrous metals were extracted from Yongxing county every year. The extraction of palladium, bismuth, selenium, platinum and some other rare metals were capable for Yongxing county’s enterprises now. At the meantime, Yongxing county placed great efforts on the improvement of deep processing of gold and silver. Till now, 12 deep processing enterprises of Yongxing county has development tens of deep processing products as superfine silver powders, 925 silver, and etc.

Of course, no one can ignore another famous brand of Yongxing county- Yongxing sweet orange, if they visit the county. When reporters arrived at the virus-free and elite breeding center of Yongxing sweet orange, the staffs there were working on the preparation of the seedlings of next spring.

Yongxing sweet orange is a high quality fruit cultivated by the agricultural technicians of Yongxing county with a method of strain breeding. In order to keep its high quality and sustainable development, over 7million yuan was placed by Yongxing county to build this virus-free and elite breeding center in 2008. The annual output of seedlings of this sweet orange was about 500,000, which can well meet the demand of plantation with an annual increase of 10%.

Bitter orange is used as the wood for grafting of sweet orange, because of its advanced root system with the advantages on cold resistance and cold endurance. Followed with this kind of grafting, the seedlings of sweet orange can bear fruits in 3 years.

There are over 125,000mu plantation areas of sweet orange available in Yongxing county currently, covering 17 towns and villages of it. 12,000 families were professional growers, over 400 of who are with the plantation areas of more than 20mu.

When reporters arrived at Baokou village, Xiangyindu town, Yongxing county, they were surprised to find such beautiful landscape architecture there. Maybe such scenery became popular in urban area, but it was really not so popular in the village.

Appealing shaped pavilions, green trees, Jiangnan style’s folk houses, and etc. helped to decorate Baokou village as a huge and beautiful park in the left bank of Xihe river. 

Songbai village and Xiangyin village which were located along the banks of Xihe river were with such beautiful scenery as Baokou village.

Liu Yongchen who moved to the new house last year could not help talking the great changes of the village to the reporters.

It was introduced that 1.35billion yuan was placed by Yongxing county from 2012 to 2014 to handle the work of 236,200mu areas’ afforestation, 2856kms channel greening,

720.80kms water system greening, and etc. 18 demonstration villages and towns of greening work were established in the county. 430,000 square meters new greening lands were available in the urban area.
