According to the requirement of “green shade action”, Chenzhou city would fully promote the vertical planting to enrich the landscape space of the city and try to improve the rate of vertical green area to be over 10% in 2015 and over 15% in 2020.

Vertical planting refers to the greening projects handled out in some special spaces as roof, wall, balcony, windowsill, fence, bridge, slop of road, and etc. It would help to show the vertical landscape effect by extending green space structure with various forms.

All the newly constructed 6-floor buildings or buildings shorter than 18meters should handle the roof greening work together with the construction and approval of the major building. All the buildings in the specified area and built within 20years with clear property right and safety requirements should follow“Hunan provincial technical guide of roof greening” to carry out relative roof greening reconstruction work.

Furthermore, some climbing plants would be planted in some walls, house surface, balconies, bridge posts, and etc. to upgrade the greening rate and coverage rate of Chenzhou city.
