Recently, Chenzhou City issued the "Implementation plan of special action for eliminating large class of compulsory education in the whole city", which has defined the timetable and plan road map for eliminating compulsory education large class problem.

According to the plan, the goal of eliminating the large class of compulsory education in our city is that the primary school and junior middle school are enrolled according to the 45 students per class and 60 students per class respectively from the autumn of 2018.

The problem of large class is due to the shortage of degrees as well as the shortage of teachers.In the aspect of increasing the degree supply, the Plan clears that the degrees will be increased through scientific planning, reconstruction and expansion of teaching or teaching auxiliary rooms. For the rural primary and secondary school resources which have been withdrawn and merged, the schools will be restored by the way of revitalizing; for all kinds of idle state-owned assets suitable for running schools, they can be used for running schools by means of replacement; for private schools surplus degrees, the government will supplement the degrees through the purchase services.

This year, our city is striving to increase 2994 teachers and eliminate 1679 large classes, but the teachers are far from enough. Our city will also adopt open recruitment, re-employment, temporary recruitment of teachers and other ways to supplement teachers, among them, the municipal project of training compulsory education teachers at public expense plans to increase by 100 people per year on the existing basis, and the actual project plans to reach 1000 people by 2022.
