The first Chenzhou Games which is with the theme of “splendid games, passionate dream” would be opened in Chenzhou Sports Center on September 15, 2015.

In order to carefully implement the spirit of the 18th Party’s National Congress, third and fourth plenary session of 18th Party’s National Congress and “Chenzhou city’s ‘12th five-year’ plan of sports”, promote the sustainable development of Chenzhou city’s sports, and comprehensively check and display the sports level of Chenzhou city, the first Chenzhou Games was confirmed by Chenzhou Government to be held in 2015 and the games would be carried out every 4 year in future. Followed the principal of scientific planning, practical operation, thrifty, justice and fair, active participation and harmonious progress, the games would be handled out to be a “hot, splendid, civilized, harmonious” high level sports event.

The games which is the first comprehensive sports event of Chenzhou city would be hosted by Chenzhou Government, undertaken by Chenzhou Media Group and supported by the districts and counties governments. Primary and secondary school students group and adult group would be set for the games. Thanks to the sound leadership of organization committee, all work is being promoted orderly. The first part of teenager group’s contests was started on July 29, 2015, including basketball, football, volleyball, ping-ping ball, athletics, weight lifting, aerobics, and orienteering.

Basketball, football, balloon volleyball, tennis, ping-ping ball, badminton, swimming, Wushu, cycling, Chinese chess, Go, and bridge are set for the adult group. The contests for the adult group and second part of primary and secondary school students group would be carried out in this September and October. Contests for primary and secondary school students group would be held in Yizhang county. Departments group, enterprise group and districts & counties group are set for the adult group. All the contests for departments group and enterprises group (except basketball games of enterprises group) would be held in central urban area of Chenzhou city, while the contests for districts & counties group would be held in relative districts and counties. Over 5000 people and 1000 judges would attend the games. 2000 athletes and 600 judges are for the primary and secondary school students group, while the rest is for adult group. Currently, all relative departments are busy with the preparation work and the participants of the games are fighting for improving their skills.

The opening ceremony of the games would be held at 9:00am, September 15, 2015 in Chenzhou Sports Center. Three agendas as sports and arts performance, march-in ceremony and opening ceremony are covered in the ceremony. Focused on the theme of “splendid games, passionate dream”, the sports and arts performance would integrate the masses cultural performance and elegant art performance, stage performance and site interaction together to show Chenzhou local culture, historic cultural heritage, social and economic achievements, high expectation, and vigorous improvement of Chenzhou city’s sports industry to people. More than 1000 people would participate in the ceremony.

The emblem which was collected nationwide was confirmed on the conference from 44 works. It is with the theme of “fighting” and focus on the core design elements of “一”-calligraphic number one and “C”- initial capital of Chenzhou city. By integrating with some other visual elements as green mountains, clear water, the holy flame, and rivers, a passionate sportsman image which can fully express Chenzhou city’s sports charm and Chenzhou city’s features of “city in the forest, leisure city” is present to the audience. This emblem highly indicates that the games would be a “hot, splendid, civilized, harmonious” high level sports event.
