From September 10 to 11, Xu Shousheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and acting governor of Hunan Province, visited enterprises and major construction sites in Chenzhou City for a field investigation on the economic and social development there. Sheng Maolin, secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and other top leaders from departments directly under the administration of the province joined in the investigation.
Deputy Secretary Xu first investigated Dongjiang Dam by ship, and then visited Chenzhou Export Processing Zone, Jiangbei Industrial Park in Zixing County and Chenzhou Gospell Digital Technology Co., Ltd. During his stay in Chenzhou, he also inspected the under-construction Hunan Centralized Clearance Center of Farm Products for Hong Kong, Macao and Foreign Countries, Chenzhou Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Chenzhou Technician College. In addition, he planted an osmanthus tree at Suxian Mountain.
After listening to the reports given by the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee and Chenzhou Municipal People’s government, Mr. Xu pointed out that Chenzhou has surmounted multiple difficulties and enjoyed great vigor and potential in development, which are satisfying. He hoped that the city, at the conjunction of Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces, can exploit its advantages in geography, appropriately handle the relations among investment, consumption and export, quicken its pace of opening up and rising, and make more contributions to the new-type industrialization, new urbanization, agricultural modernization, informatization and construction of the “Two-oriented” Society.
