Working Style Office of Jiahe County Party Committee highly affirmed Panjiang reservoir’s measures for protecting the safety of drinking water after they took a thorough investigation on the protection work of drinking water resource. On their investigation, some patrolmen were busy in salvaging floats and handling propaganda of “no swimming” around the reservoir areas to some visitors. At the meantime, data and standing book were with complete details and the reservoir storage was clear.

Panjiang reservoir was one of the key water resources for the integration of urban and rural areas’ water supply in Jiahe county, which concerned about more than 0.1 million people’s water supply. In order to make sure the safety of drinking water, one patrolmen team would be dispatched to carry out the salvage and propaganda work along the reservoir. Furthermore, some posters, banners and propaganda materials were prepared for more specified propaganda for the visitors, which helped to form a sound atmosphere of protection for the safety of drinking water in the county.

Besides those measures mentioned above, the fishery was cancelled in the reservoir area to ensure the storage of water to be kept 8 million cubic meters annually. Items as mining development, catering and entertainment industry and others which would be risky for causing water pollution were prohibited in the reservoir area. Cleaning project, ecological conservation forest, sewage disposal monitoring, and other issues were handled out in Jiahe county accordingly to make sure the high quality for the water of Panjiang reservoir.

Due to the series measures and all efforts of Jiahe people, all the indexes of Panjiang drinking water resources were qualified to meet II class standard, which helped to grant drinking water safety to all people.
