“Thanks to the help of Local Taxation Bureau, our village is kept being improved,” Ouyang Qinglong who is Secretary of Village Party Branch of Chenjiangtang, Yaogangxian Town, Yizhang County said excitedly to the reporters. Clean roads and tidy houses are available there. Villagers can enjoy their leisure lives on the newly built leisure square.

As one the key target of poverty alleviation work, there are 90 poverty stricken families, covering 369 people in the village. In 2014, according to the assignment of Yizhang County Party Committee and Yizhang Government, Yizhang Local Taxation Bureau undertook the task to handle the poverty alleviation work of Chenjiatang Village. A special poverty alleviation leadership group was set up by the bureau afterward. A staff was designated to handle the connection with the village as well. The staff visited the village for many times and discussed with local leaders about the ways for lifting out of poverty, which played an active guiding role on the poverty alleviation work.

In last two years, 1.2kms roads and 4.4kms water channels were built or repaired there. Villagers were mobilized to plant tobacco leaves, high quality rice, and seedlings, 240mu in total, which helped to increase villagers’ income. Till now, 353 people of the 84 poverty stricken families were lifted out of poverty.
