On May 9, the 8th Volunteer Development Forum and volunteer service project training meeting were held in Chenzhou.

At the meeting, the outstanding volunteer service projects, organizations and individuals in Chenzhou were commended. Subsequently, Wang Zhong, Professor of School of Business Administration, Hunan University, gave a lecture entitled "Volunteer Service (Volunteer) Public Entrepreneurship - For Better Tomorrow".

In recent years, Chenzhou volunteer service work has developed rapidly. The city has a total of nearly 700 kinds of young volunteer service organizations and all kinds of 660,000 volunteers. The City Youth Volunteers Association, the City Civilized Creation Volunteer Association, City Fucheng Volunteer Association and City Volunteer Association and other volunteer organizations have done a lot of work on civilized creation, environmental protection, helping the poor, psychological care and other fields and made a positive contribution to the economic and social development of the city.

Li Ting, Deputy Director of Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee pointed out at the training course that the city's volunteers should continue to carry forward the spirit of volunteer service and strive to build a number of the volunteer culture with Chenzhou cultural characteristics; should actively guide and encourage the public to participate in volunteer service and expand the volunteer service force; should combine the volunteer service activities with a variety of spiritual civilized creation activities to constantly expand the influence of volunteer service activities, around the construction connotation of "five Chenzhou"; should rely on the existing volunteer service organizations, continue to develop the volunteer organizations at the grass-roots level of urban and rural communities, strengthen the volunteer organizations of organs and units and civil society organizations, and actively promote the standardization, specialization and diversification of volunteer organizations to let the volunteer spirit become a bright "Chenzhou business card".
