On May 23, the opening activities of Dongjiang Lake Ecological Protection Procuratorate Bureau of Zixing People's Procuratorate were held. Provincial People's Procuratorate Party member and Deputy Prosecutor Liu Qingsheng, Vice Mayor He Zunqing, and Party Secretary of Municipal People's Procuratorate and Chief Procurator Jiang Tao inaugurated for the Dongjiang Lake Ecological Protection Procuratorate Bureau.

Dongjiang Lake is the main drinking water source in Chenzhou and a strategic water source in Hunan Province, and is a national key ecological environment protecting lake. The establishment of the Dongjiang Lake Ecological Protection Procuratorate Bureau of Zixing People's Procuratorate will provide effective legal guarantees to strengthen the judicial protection of the ecological environment and build the ecological Chenzhou, and will strengthen the legal supervision work relating to the ecological environment resources protecting in Dongjiang Lake Basin.

It was reported that the bureau will conduct the three-in-one ecological procuratorial work mode of "Professional legal supervision + restorative justice practice + social comprehensive governance". The main responsibilities are to intervene in advance and guide the investigation for the major environmental crimes according to law; to examine and arrest the criminal suspects of the crimes against environmental and resource protection according to law; to examine and prosecute for the crimes against environmental and resource protection according to law; to supervise and take legal action for the situation of the administrative organs not transferring the suspected criminal cases according to law; to supervise for the administrative law enforcement organs of performing their duties improperly; to support the civil subject and administrative counterpart suffered the illegal violation to take civil action and administrative proceedings, and press the relevant departments responsible for supervision and protection to take legal action; to investigate and prevent the duty crimes in the environmental and resource protection according to law.
