On May 23, in order to further improve the ecological environment of Chen Rivers Basin and protect the fishery resources, the activities of fish enhancement and releasing in urban river of Chenzhou were held in Huaiwan Bridge of Chen Rivers.

It was reported that the concentrated releasing point of activities is located in the Wangxian Lake and Suxian Lake of Chen Rivers, a total of 2 million fishes such as grass carp, bighead, silver carp, black carp and other economic fishes which can improve water quality have been released, in which 1.8 million summer fingerlings of 3 to 8 cm, 200,000 large-size spring fingerlings and 2 million fishes will be released before August. This is also the 5th consecutive years to carry out the fish artificial releasing activities in Chenzhou City in order to feed fish with water, live water with fish, and beautify water with fish, and lay a solid foundation for the construction of ecological Chenzhou.

In recent years, Chenzhou aquacultures work has achieved excellent results in the province. Last year, the Municipal Bureau of animal husbandry and veterinary fisheries was awarded the national agricultural advanced collective by Ministry of Agriculture and was the only recommended and selected city (state) bureau by agricultural system in the province. The fish enhancement and releasing activities are the important measures to cultivate fishery resources, improve water quality, protect the environment and build ecological civilization, with important practical significance.
