On June 30, the reporter was informed from the launching ceremony of education targeted poverty alleviation in Suxian District that the city's education fund will support more than 30,000 students from poor households and low-income families this year. Chen Xuechu, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee attended the launching ceremony.

It was reported that 2017 Chenzhou education targeted poverty alleviation activities were hosted by the City Education Foundation, City Education Bureau, City Federation of Trade Unions, Chenzhou Daily, City Radio and Television, Hunan Yuteng Nonferrous Metals, Hunan Jinwang Bismuth Company and other units, and undertook by Suxian Party Committee and district government.

In recent years, the city's education fund carried out the activities of "Aid education with hot heart" to help the poor, supported more than 220,000 college students, middle and primary school students to continue their studies, and issued assistance payments of 155 million yuan. Especially the education fund participated in the education targeted poverty alleviation in 2016 and supported more than 30,000 students from poor households and low-income families, accounting for 57.58% of registered poor students.

Chen Xuechu pointed out that education is the key to the persuasion, helping the poor and blocking the intergenerational transmission of poverty, and it is necessary to fully understand the important role of education poverty alleviation in winning the fight against poverty; the educational foundation at all levels should focus on the center of poverty eradication, innovate the ideas, widen the channel, work hard in the targeted, help, guidance, implementation and publicity, and do a good job in various work of education fund; the party committees and governments at all levels, and the relevant departments should attach great importance to support the education poverty alleviation work, provide favorable conditions and create the necessary working environment for the education foundation.

At the launching ceremony, Suxian District Education Foundation received love donation of 18.6 million yuan from love enterprises, social caring people, organs and institutions, cadres and workers.
