On August 14, the reporter learned from the Chenzhou Association for Science and Technology that the whole city has 50 communities successfully created municipal civilized communities at present, in which Suoshiqiao Community in Wang Xianling Street Suxian District and other 36 communities won the title of Hunan provincial science popularization demonstration community, and18 communities acquired the award of "community science benefit plan" from China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance and the Provincial Association for Science and Technology and Provincial Financial Department, the reward amount of 2.6 million yuan.

In recent years, our city has put improving the scientific literacy of community residents into the scientific literacy movement of target population, and has introduced the "Implementation plan for creating municipal civilized communities" and "Notice on the creation of municipal civilized communities". The create units focused on improving the scientific and cultural quality and life quality of the residents to vigorously carry forward the scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, advocate a scientific, civilized and healthy lifestyle, and organize rich and colorful activities to popularize scientific knowledge.

According to reports, the city carried out pilot work in Beihu and Suxian districts and successfully created 12 popular science civilized communities from 2010 to 2011; they carried out the second batch of creation work and created 17 popular science civilized communities from 2012 to 2014; they carried out the third batch of creation work and created 21 popular science civilized communities from 2015 to 2016.
