Recently, 8 village committees in Reshui Town Rucheng County formally established the public legal service points, formed legal service teams with the lawyers, police, security officer, village mediator and legal service volunteers as the main body, and set up windows in the villages to receive regular reception of visitors and callers, and provide a one-stop legal service for the people living in the area, which was a miniature of the county's legal aid platform.
Since this year, Rucheng County increased publicity and regularly organized lawyers, public legal volunteers and other workers to widely publicize legal aid to make the disabled, minors and other key recipients know legal aid. They selected outstanding cases which were closely related to the life of the masses, such as the cases of traffic accident liability and the cases of alimony disputes, and carried out the case analysis reports in related media to make the difficult and disadvantaged groups think of legal aid at the first time when they met legal problems. In order to allow the masses to apply for legal aid more quickly, the county built 213 public legal service points in the county and arranged lawyers, public legal service volunteers and other staff to be on duty at all points according to the actual situation of the villages and towns to make difficult and disadvantaged people apply for legal aid easily. The county also improved the ability to handle cases of lawyers and legal service workers through lectures on laws and regulations, training in filing files and so on, carried out the three level control mechanism of central review, the inspection of the county bureau and the inspection of the political and law commission to review the files of the aid cases, and strictly followed the court system to ensure the defense quality of the case investigators during the sessions of the court to make people realize that the legal aid is the "free service", but not "bad service" and greatly enhance the satisfaction of the recipient groups.
Up to now, Rucheng County has handled a total of 85 legal aid cases, of which 46 civil legal aids, 39 criminal legal aids, reception of 6135 legal consultations to avoid and retrieve more than 5 million yuan of economic loss for the masses, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the difficult and disadvantaged groups.
