In order to enhance the well-being of the disabled people, the local government of Chenzhou city has implemented four major actions since 2021, doing practical work to address problems for the disabled.  

Considering that it is rather difficult for the severely disabled people to travel out for the assessment of their disability, the local government issued a notice and organized 128 medical experts to pay visits to their homes for evaluating the disability levels. At present, 3,057 people have received the service, and 2,710 have got the certificates of disability.

The government also cooperates with voluntary service organizations and relevant social groups to offer paired-up assistance to the severely disabled individuals. Up to now, 13,596 severely disabled people have been visited, with 6,572 gift packages sent to them. 47,631 people have bought commercial insurances. 1,218 problems about their living have been solved. At the same time, 22 million yuan has been injected for the rehabilitation and assistance of 1,100 disabled children and the barrier-free reconstruction for 1,200 families with disabled people in need.

The local government has actively explored new modes of employment to expend job channels for the disabled. Recruitment information is available for disabled job seekers in online and offline ways. Up to now, 15 special offline job fairs for the disabled have been held. 2,250 persons have applied for jobs on job fairs, and 776 persons sought jobs online. 1,025 persons have reached employment intention with enterprises. In 2021, 25 million yuan will be invested to provide training for 4,485 disabled people, assist 800 disabled people to start businesses, and support 60 entrepreneurship and employment demonstration bases for disabled people.
