Established in 1994, Chenzhou state administration of taxation stands by Wuling Avenue, Beihu district of Chenzhou. It has 12 county level bureaus (cities, districts) and 12 tax branches under its command. There are 12 administrative sections, 2 departments directly under the administration and 2 institutions in Chenzhou state administration of taxation. At present, it is mainly responsible for collecting various taxes, such as value added tax, consumption tax, enterprise income tax, individual income tax on interest earnings from savings, and vehicle purchasing tax. The major industries defined by "two kinds of tobaccos, two kinds of powers, two kinds of mines" (i.e Tobaccos, tobacco leafs, hydroelectricity, thermal power, nonferrous metal, and coal mine) are the main source of taxation.
