On February 28, more than 50 people were transplanting Fructus Aurantii seedlings in a Fructus Aurantii seedling base of Anren County.
In recent years, Anren County has introduced a series of preferential policies that the households who had100 to 500 mu of contiguous cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines were awarded with the standard of 500 yuan per mu. In addition to the rewards, the big households who had over 500 mu of contiguous cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines were also given the priority to arrange the land consolidation, irrigation and drainage projects, road facilities, financial industry supporting facilities, and counterpart cooperation by the resident county leaders or units directly under the county. Especially after the introduction of 3 years action plan of the Chinese herbal medicine industry development in 2015, 20 Chinese herbal medicine planting demonstration bases of more than 500 mu were established to drive more than 10,000 poor people out of poverty.
In addition, the county also carried out the strategic cooperation with the Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and through the introduction of Xiangzhong Pharmaceutical and other enterprises, took the model of "company + base + professional cooperative economic organizations + farmers", to effectively solve the problem of local labor employment and also solve the processing and sales problems in farmers planting herbs.
So far the county has formed the Chinese herbal medicine production base with Lingguan, Yangji and other 5 towns as the center, has planted more than 50,000 mu of Fructus Aurantii, Polygonum, Polygonum Multiflorum and other Chinese herbal medicines, and has brought more than 40,000 farmers involved, of which poor masses accounted for more than 60%. In 2016, Anren was identified as the province's first batch of Chinese herbal medicine planting base demonstration county by Provincial Economic and Information Technology Committee.
