Afforestation is one of the greening tasks for urban and rural areas of Chenzhou city and its governed counties. Guided by “three-year greening work” of Chenzhou government, Guidong County Party Committee and Guidong Government launched an afforestation climax within the county areas. In order to get better understanding of the afforestation work, the reporters came to Fangxiang, Liuyuan Village of Guidong County.

When the reporter arrived at the village, some foresters were working carefully on protecting young plants. Deng Youtian- Village Secretary introduced the details of village afforestation to the reporters. Fangcun village is one of the remote villages of Liuyuan village with average altitude of 1020 meters, hills of 9688mu and barren mountains of 1118mu. By seizing the chance of Chenzhou greening project in urban and rural areas, Fangcun villagers strived for reforming mountains suitable for greening, which was greatly supported by the superior government. Till now, mountains of 800mu are full of planted trees and villagers are taking good care of them, with more than 90% survival rate. In the next step, villager will go for the reforming of old, bad and spoiled forests.

It was learned that Guidong County had finished 10000mu forest transformation after the launching of greening project which is well carried out by people from the urban and rural areas.
