The classic revolutionary opera "Sister Jiang",  performed by Chenzhou Song and Dance Troupe, made a successful debut in the Performing Arts Center of Chenzhou City on the evening of June 8.

Co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Chenzhou Municipal Committee and Chenzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, the opera was staged to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

At the premier, the sets, the costumes and impressive performances brought the audience into the extraordinary revolutionary times.

"The image of Sister Jiang has taken roots in the hearts of all Chinese people. The performance tonight succeeded in bringing history to life and the performers have acted very well", said a viewer.

According to the head of Chenzhou Song and Dance Troupe Liao Lijun, the troupe has rearranged the opera twice in the 1970s and 1980s, and this is the third version staged by them.

The opera, playing at the Performing Arts Center of Chenzhou City till June 12, will go on tour in various counties, county-level cities and districts in Chenzhou.
